About The founder

 The founder and CEO of "To Learn Is Empowering", Yvonne, is a trailblazing Education Professional, boasting decades of dynamic experience that seamlessly blends entrepreneurial flair with a heartfelt dedication to community betterment.

Her educational tutoring journey began with nurturing her own children, laying the groundwork for their academic success even before they set foot in elementary school. The children have now achieved university degrees, including MSc and BSc qualifications, while some are presently engaged in PhD pursuits!

This initial spark fueled a passion that led her to collaborate with a diverse range of elementary schools within the Peel and Catholic-Peel District School Board.

Now, driven by an unwavering commitment to empower learners, Yvonne has embarked on an exciting new venture, proudly launching her cutting-edge tutoring enterprise, "To Learn Is Empowering".

Yvonne's educational objectives aim to empower children with their English Reading and Mathematics skills. This extends to children with developmental challenges, including, but not limited to, ADHD, ADD, and FASD.

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is another skill under her belt, for which she obtained her TESOL certificate from The Canadian College of Educators in 2019. Her most recent certificate was obtained in 2020 from the University of Reading for Supporting Successful Learning in Primary School.

Yvonne earned her BSc in Sociology with Honors, and this coupled with her vast experience and certifications serves as verification of not only her capabilities as an Education Professional, but also the influence of her teaching on the children she has taught and continues to teach.
